I don't know what to say.  I legitimately do not know what to say.  Don't read this book if you want to avoid angsty teenage boys wanting to fuck angsty teenage ghost girls.  That is all I can say.

Anna and the French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins

I had my doubts when I started this book.  I was promised a story with no annoying main characters.  I was not lied to.  Of course there were the moments in which I did think that a main character was annoying.  But there were no Daniels. 

Anna Oliphent gets sent away to an American school in Paris.  She really doesn't want to, but you know how these things go.  Her neighbor in the dorm becomes good friends with her.  Of course that doesn't last.  Something has to happen.  And then they become friends again of course.  The reason, of course, is because of a guy.  Etienne St. Clair to be exact.  He's a cute boy with an English accent.  Something every girl swoons at.  Oh and also, he has a girl friend.  Ellie.  She's kind of a bitch.  

Soon St. Clair is falling for Anna and Anna is falling for St. Clair.  But, he still has a girlfriend.  Well isn't that awkward.  The relationship was going downhill and fast.  Which made St. Clair, of course, start to be iffy with Anna.  Oh and Meredith, Anna's first friend and the neighbor i mentioned earlier, likes St. Clair too.  Which makes things super awkward for Anna, because she has to hide the fact she likes St. Clair to save Mer's feelings. 

Then there is Toph.  The cute boy that Anna liked back in America.  He's a cute rocker boy.  And there's Bridgette, Anna's best friend in America.  And yes, they have to throw in the twist that Bridge and Toph get together.  Which squashes Anna's dreams of dating Toph.  Oh yes things get awkward.  

But then everything gets better in the end.  And the book made me cry, because St. Clair confesses his love for Anna at the top of Notre Dame.  St. Clair is afraid of heights.  That's what makes it so special.  

I really would recommend this book to anyone.  It's an amazing, but twisting love story.  It's beautiful.

Immortal - Gillian Shields

Where to start with this book?  I couldn't tell you, because I don't understand a thing that happened in this book.  It starts with an annoying girl, Evelyn Johnson.  She tells you she is "intelligent, sane, and sensible", all which are blatant lies. She just goes to a school, because she has no one to look after her.  It really doesn't make sense.  And it's never really clear where she is located.  I believe she is located in England, but I can't be sure.  

Evelyn meets a mysterious stranger, Sebastian, after he nearly runs her over with his horse.  Again, it doesn't make much sense.  Really though, would you fall in love with a shady dude that threatened you after first meeting.  It's completely impossible.  And why does there always have to be a popular bitch? Especially a cliche mean girl.  Oh but this one has an odd twist.  She has a dead cousin!  Wow, that makes her all the more bitchier. There are insane "mistresses" and what not, all adding to the "scary, creepy atmosphere."

I just can not get over the fact that the story doesn't make sense.  And even in the end, the story never ties together.  The "relationship" of Sebastian and Evelyn never develops and never makes sense.  It's just off and on, good and bad, but none of this is in the good way.  Then there is Crazy Helen Black, which like the nickname suggests, is really crazy.  She is a bitch, not that she means to be, but she is.

The only semi-respectable character in the book is Anna.  And that's cause I don't have to read much of her dialogue.  I'm just sorry she's related to Evelyn. 

I would not recommend this book to ANYONE.

Shatter Me - Tahereh Mafi

When I first started this book, Angel told me that I would like it.  And you know her, she knows what I like.  I'm very fond of Dystopia books. The story line was good.  The atmosphere is amazing. But, of course, there are the characters.

Don't get me wrong, these characters are not half as bad as other characters (-cough, cough- Daniel and Luce).  But of course they have their flaws.  Juliette is fun to watch as she freaks out repeatedly.  Her being frozen in place is mentioned more times then the name Daniel is mentioned in the Fallen series.  But I do like her consistency with numbers.  And the way she thinks things she doesn't want to think, so she crosses them out.  But, again, she basically swoons over every guy she sees.

Adam though.  Adam.  Perfect Adam.  Almost, too perfect Adam.  Yes, I said it, he is too perfect.  To good to be true.  And what is even more frustrating is I can't figure out what is wrong with him.  Why is he so perfect?  Even is dystopia's, you don't start loving someone when you first see them.  And Juliette can touch Adam. Why?  WHY? I have a theory.  The theory is,  they are related somehow.  But, I'll let you know how that works out when the rest of the series come out. 

I would recommend this book, only if you like reading about perfect boys, and the imperfect girls they fall in love with.

The Story Behind: Daniel Grigori

Every so often, I'll do a segment called "The Story Behind:", which will be an explanation of something I've mentioned in another post or in my description. 


So here it goes.  


Daniel Grigori is a fallen angel in the Fallen series by Lauren Kate.  I am completely and utterly obsessed with him.  But not in the good way.  He is a super douchebag.  He makes Luce love him.  If he would just go away for more than a day, Luce would finally understand that their love is not a necessary thing.  

But, no, of course not.  He just has to be so annoying and pushy.  And, dear lord I just had a revelation.  Over and Over by Three Days Grace describes Luce in the relationship.

He never stops.  He doesn't want Luce to love him.  Oh but wait, now he does want Luce to love him.  Oh, I'm sorry, I have lied again.  He now doesn't want Luce to love him.  OH GOSH NO!  Now he does want her to love him.  That is pretty much how the whole story goes.  It's like reading the adventure of a 12 year old picking the petals off a flower saying "He loves me, He loves me not."

And in some short time, I will have for you, the exact count of how many times Daniel's name is said in the book.  What is even better then that?  That in the first chapter of the in-between book, Fallen in Love, Daniel is mentioned 7 times.  And the first chapter has nothing to do with him.  At all.  Not in any way.  It is about two other characters.  Not Daniel.  But no, god forbid that Daniel is excused from any point of the book.

So all in all, I love Daniel.  No, I love to HATE Daniel.  That ego-centric, unfurled winged, cynical, hot-shot angel, douche bag, DUMBASS!

oh, I'm sorry.  That was a tiny bit uncalled for.

Anna Dressed In Blood - Kendare Blake (Book Review and Apology)

This blog hasn't been updated in a while, I know.  But, that is because I haven't read a review worthy book in a while.

Anna Dressed In Blood was a great book from the start.  I started this book yesterday during school, while my friend was still reading it.  I finished up to chapter 4 and I didn't want to stop.  My friend finally finished it last night and she gave it to me today.  I haven't been able to put it down.  It was so amazing.  The last book I read that fast was Mockingjay from the Hunger Games series.

There of course, are only two characters I like in the book.  The main character, who shockingly isn't Anna, though the name and cover suggest that.  But, Anna is the other character I like.  The rest of the characters are annoying, ditsy, or assholes.  And I think you all know how I feel about characters like that.

Moving on,  the plot line is well put together and flows nicely.  The way I read things, it's like watching a movie.  I see the scenes being played out in front of me, like if i was reading the script while the actors performed.   With this book, it's amazing.  You see the action, the blood, the terrors and horrors.

There are very intresting twists and at first I thought the story was going to fast, but in the end, it was very interesting to see how the story finally played out.  For once, a horror story has caused me to cry.  That's how good this book is.

I highly recommend this book to everyone.  That is everyone who isn't afraid of the dark, ghosts, gore, and shall I say... love.
